Last spring we began auditing part of our World Art Textile Collection

Annually, tobacco kills 8 million people around the world, including 1.2 million nonsmokers who are exposed to secondhand smoke [ 2 ]

Among people aged 12 or older in 2020, 58.7 percent (or 162.5 million people) used tobacco, alcohol, or an illicit drug in the past month, 50.0 percent (or 138.5 million people) drank alcohol in the past month, 18.7 percent (or 51.7 million people) used a tobacco product in the past month, and 13.5 percent (or 37.3 million people) used an illicit drug in the past month (Figure 1 and Table A.1B)
