An open rosette shape of many narrow, tapering, spiny, bronzy green leaves to about 18 inches across or less. The marginal spines are rather large and typical of the genus Bromelia, point in both directions. At anthesis the center blushes cherry red with a cottony white inflorescence nested in the center. Flowers are pink magenta and are edged in white.
